Why the need for a support vehicle and driver ? |

a. Vehicle: i. Each team requires one support vehicle. ii. The essence of the Desert Dash is self-sufficiency under extreme endurance conditions. iii. Each team must carry their own food, water, medical and sustenance provisions/support in order to ensure that they complete the event safely.
b. Driver: i. The driver of the support vehicle is a team member. ii. he/she is in principle the team captain and is responsible for ensuring that the team is catered and cared for. iii. The driver is to have a clear understanding of the route, the marshalling points and the Rules of the Event. iv. In addition, the driver is to make themselves aware of the safety/security facilities provided in the event of an emergency. v. The driver must manage his/her time in order to ensure that they cope with the 24hr ‘no-sleep / slow-speed’ dirt road driving conditions. > All FAQ's
