Stage 5 to Checkpoint #5 (Power Station)

Stage 5 ends at Checkpoint #5 next to the power station. Waterpoint #4, at the Langer Heinrich Uranium Mine turnoff, will be reached after 35km. The section after Waterpoint #4 usually carries a lot of mine traffic: large trucks and busses which causes lots of dust and flying stones. Be careful. Although the profile indicates a nice downhill, a monster headwind blowing inland from the sea can turn this stage into a real suffer fest.
Portable flush toilets are available.

After the stage rider has signed in at CP#4, the next designated rider of a team departs on Stage 5.

Team Support Vehicle leaves for Checkpoint #5

At Waterpoint #4 cyclists will be directed onto the track following a pipeline. This is a few meters off the main road and will keep you out of the way of the normal mine traffic. Support vehicles will follow the purple track on the map.
