Stage 6 to Checkpoint #6 (Wurstbude)Stage 6 ends in Swakopmund but not before a few sandy patches and detours through town that really tests your sense of humour. All the riders in the 2- and 4-person teams ride this stage together so at least you'll have the rest of your team with you to keep the spirits high. Once you've reached town you'll follow the route on tar roads to Checkpoint #6 where you'll receive a 'route completed' marker. From there you proceed another 2km to the Finish Zone where your official time will be recorded. After the stage rider has signed in at CP#5, all the riders of a team depart on Stage 6 and stay together until the Finish Zone. Team Support Vehicle leaves for the Finish Zone. From Checkpoint #5 cyclists will still follow the track along the pipeline until just before the Swakop river. Here cyclists will get on the main road for a few kilometers until they turn off left. Support vehicles will follow the main road. Closer to town they'll follow the purple track on the map.
